My purpose with my research is to bring up something that many people don't know about, when they think about minorities such as Hispanic/Latinx students, in institutions that are PWI's. The genres I believe (as of right now) that are the best to convey my message, are: Twitter account, Flyer, and a Website. I chose these genres because the main targeted audience are students and institutions staff to see how to make a difference and change things on how they are now. My audience is familiar with the topic of education, but what I wanna help them learn more on is how hispanic/latinx students struggle in these type of institutions. Some assumptions my audience might make is that hispaic/latinx students have the same available resources and level of fairness as other students, but when you actually look closer, those resources and opportunities are either not easily accessible, not for them, etc. I will connect with my audience because not only am I a college student at a PWI, I am also hispanic and have gone through the same things that I talk about in my research. The best mode for what I want to say, would have to be intimate/ personal, and informative. My favorite genres to compose in are anything related to technology, such as social media or a digital flyer. My strengths as a composer would be technology as well.
